Artist Notes

The Griffin IIC was primed black, and basecoated in a tan mixed together using AP Paratrooper Tan, AP Daemonic Yellow, and AP Matt White at a ratio of 1:1:1. Over this I created the piebald camo shapes with a mixed together brownish-red, using AP Paratrooper Tan and AP Angelic Red at a ratio of 2:1. You can use a ratio of 1:1 for a deeper darker more red color. Next, I washed the Griffin with a thinned AP Strong Skin Shade, over which I then re-applied the camo colors as a glaze to brighten it back up. I slightly brightenned the tan for some minor edge highlighting, and then applied a very minor AP Ash Grey drybrush to the lower leg. AP Gun Metal was used for metallics, AP Daemonic Yellow and AP Space Dust were used for lasers, and AP Ash Grey, AP Royal Blue, and AP Bright Sapphire were used for the canopy, and missile tubes used ProAcryl Bold Pyrrole Red. The same blues were used for the jumpjets as well. Finally, panel lining was done with a thinned AP Dark Tone.
