Theta uses a white paint scheme darkening to grey on the left arm and right leg. Blue flames shooting up the right arm and left leg symbolize the fiery dedication with which Theta smothers enemy invasions. Bloodnamed warriors may substitute a spattering of blood to the right arm’s flames.

Artist Notes
- Start by priming white
- Wash the mini with a grey color wash. I have used Army Painter Speedpaint Holy White, Citadel Apothecary White Contrast, and Citadel Soulblight Grey Shade, all with similar results.
- Either layer or dry brush with white to bring the white color back on the raised areas of the mini.
- Use Vallejo Heavy Charcoal for the left arm and right leg. The canon scheme uses a gradient to transition from the charcoal to lighter greys, eventually transitioning into the original white color. This effect can easily be achieved with an airbrush, but can also be done through the use of layering, glazing, or brushing. The paint scheme will still look good if you decide to skip the gradient and paint the arm and leg with a solid grey color.
- The right arm and left leg have an electric blue flame pattern. I use Vallejo Electric Blue and imagine that the flame pattern is something unique to each MechWarrior, therefore I have slightly different styles on each ‘Mech design. I recommend that you search flame patterns online to find something that you like or feel comfortable painting. Practice makes perfect…
- Carefully paint the metal area such as joints and weapons with a metallic paint like Vallejo Gunmetal or Steel, then add a wash only to the metal areas with a dark wash such as Citadel Nuln Oil.
- Paint lasers, cockpit glass, unit markings, etc. with your preferred colors and/or effects.
- Edge highlight the grey areas with corresponding lighter grey colors.
- (Optional) Add decals and/or panel lining as desired. Blood spatter can be added to the right arm to denote a Bloodnamed warrior.
- Spray the entire mini with a matte varnish such as Krylon Matte Finish spray.
