Artist Notes
For my Highlanders, I decided to do a fairly basic green. While painting up the first few, that seemed too simple, so I added the grey accents to break up the green a little bit. I only painted the individual tartans on the upper right leg, leaving which sub-command of the Northwind Highlanders they belong to ambiguous.
I used paints from the Citadel Colour line for this miniature. The green is Castellan Green with an Agrax Earthshade wash and Straken Green highlights. The grey is Mechanicus Standard Grey with an Agrax Earthshare wash and Dawnstone highlights.
On this Highlander, I painted a MacCloud tartan. For that, I started with a base color of Altdorf Guard Blue, painted crossing stripes with Straken Green, painted squares where the stripes meet with Castellan Green, then added thin lines across the stripes with Yriel Yellow and Wazdakka Red.
