Hellion – Beta Galaxy

by

Scheme Reference

‘Mechs are painted in a fade pattern of blue, from dark blue (almost black) at the feet up to light blue (almost white) at the head. ‘Mechs are then covered head-to-toe in a speckled white pattern made to resemble a snow storm. In winter environments, or even night operations, Beta has often found no need to use camouflage.

Artist Notes

The model was primed in Army Painter white spray can primer. The core gradient uses Army Painter’s Crystal Blue as a base, mixed with various ratios of Army Painters Matt White or Matt Black to create the gradient. I started with the lightest blue on the head and shoulders, and worked my way down the model with bands of color, working toward pure Crystal Blue in the middle to CB with more black at the feet. A MIG Productions Dark Wash is applied to the whole model. Matt White was stippled randomly about the model to flavor, and Army Painter’s Daemonic Yellow was used for the cockpit glass. The base is colored with a craft store Craft Smart Spanish Olive paint, the forward side of the base colored with one of the gradient colors used on the mech.
