Artist Notes
Prime the model in Citadel Chaos Black.
Cover the back spines with Tamiya masking tape.
Basecoat the model with Pro Acryl Camo Green, using a makeup sponge.
Apply a second, lighter layer of Pro Acryl Yellow Green over the top parts of the model. This creates a volumetric highlight.
Remove the masking tape, and apply a new batch of masking tape to the areas around the back spines.
Basecoat the back spines using Pro Acryl Burgundy.
Apply a highlight layer using AK Interactive Carmine Red.
Remove all masking tape.
Use a small brush to paint various metallic details using Vallejo Metal Color Exhaust Manifold.
Paint the cockpit and laser lens using Pro Acryl Blue, then applying a layer of Pro Acryl Sky Blue to the lower part of the area. Next, add a small highlight using Pro Acryl Titanium White.
Clean up various errors with a small brush.
For the base, apply both Citadel Technical Martian Ironearth and Technical Martian Ironcrust.
Wait until dry, then wash using a heavily thinned Pro Acryl Mahogany.
Wait until dry, then drybrush with Pro Acryl Burnt Orange. Then, apply a lighter drybrush of Pro Acryl Golden Brown. Make sure to catch a bit of the ‘mech’s feet in this drybrush.
Finally, paint the sides of the base in Pro Acryl Burnt Orange.
