I used the artwork of Yen-Lo-Wang in the Essentials Box and Legends as inspiration for my paint job.

Artist Notes

For my Yen-Lo-Wang miniature, I wanted it to be recognizable but I also wanted to avoid using the Rising Sun imagery. I ended up landing on having a red Cameron Star take its place.

I started with a base of Grey Seer. I then painted the metallic bits with Leadbelcher and the red patterns with Evil Sunz Scarlet. Then I washed the whole miniature with Nuln Oil. After the wash, I brightened the white panels with Ulthuan Grey and the red portions with the same Evil Sunz Scarlet. Then I finished up with some highlights with White Scar.

All of those paints are from the Citadel Colour line.
