Artist Notes
The primary feature of Yen-Lo-Wang’s paint scheme is of course the sunburst. I started with a basecoat of white (Warpaint’s Matt White); this may take up to 3-4 coats to get full coverage. Then I began the freehand with a gloss red (DecoArt’s True Red). Just go slow and this freehand isn’t too bad, I just used small brushstrokes and followed the pattern as best I could.
After that I painted the steel details using Citadel’s Leadbelcher, and then gave the whole mini a wash in Nuln Oil. Those wishing for a more clean or non weathered look may wish to panel line more carefully than simply washing the whole mini.
After that I painted the cockpit, lasers, and based the mech.
