This miniature is based on the cover art of Betrayal of Ideals.
Artist Notes
Primed the model with Army Painter Ash Grey rattlecan primer. Through an airbrush thinned about 1:1 with water and a drop of Vallejo Airbrush Flow Improver, coated the entire model with several thin coats of Pro Acryl Ultramarine (Rogue Hobbies), then used the same Ultramarine to tidy up any missed spots, and following up with a drybrush of a 1:1 mix of the Ultramarine and Pro Acryl Bold Titanium White. Used Pro Acryl Bismuth Yellow (Rogue Hobbies) on the trim and other detailing. Gave the entire miniature a wash of Army Painter Purple Tone thinned 1:1 with Pro Acryl Glaze & Wash Medium. Metallic bits were base coated, washed, and drybrushed with Vallejo’s TMM Sterling Silver Base, Shade, and Light, respectively. Using a hobby knife and clippers, I removed the miniature from its base carefully to make sure neither was damaged. From below, I applied a very thin coat of Army Painter Hive Dweller Purple through an airbrush for some exxaggerated shadows. Using Army Painter Lava Orange and the Bismuth Yellow, I spent a lot of tome glazing to get some kind of a gradient on the cockpit canopy. The simplified Clan Wolverine insignia was created with Army Painter Molten Lava making up the circle, and the slashes being applied with Army Painter Brigade Grey, which was alco used to paint the numbers. Finally, a drybrush of Pro Acryl Orange Red (Rogue Hobbies) was applied to the legs to simulate the martian sand getting kicked up and settling on the ‘Mech. The AC was given a dot of Pro Acryl Coal Black, while the laser was given a dot of Bold Titanium White, followed by a dot of Army Painter Wild Green.
The base was cleaned up after its removal, then given a layer of Vallejo Desert Sand texture paste. The whole of the sand was covered in Red Orange, which was further given a Citadel Agrax Earthshade wash, then drybrushed again with Red Orange, The base was rimmed with Coal Black, then the base and mini were glued back together.
Finally, the entire miniature was given a coat of rattlecan Army Painter Anti-Shine Matt Varnish and I was left with these results.
