Artist Notes
1. Mini was primed with ProAcryl (PA) Matte Grey rattlecan primer then zenithal highlighted with Vallejo Model Color (VMC) white.
2. A base layer of 2:1 PA Payne’s Grey – PA Blue Black was airbrushed and a highlight color of Warpainter Fanatic (WPF) Stratos Blue drybrushed.
3. Apply accents and cockpit/weapon/lens jeweling: a. Metallic accents: PA Magnesium and edge highlighted with PA Light Bronze. b. Orange Accents: starting with a PA Pink undercoat for vibrancy, a base layer of WPF Demigod Flames is applied with a VMC Orange Brown shade, and a highlight of 1:1 WPF Demigod Flames – VMC Sunny Skin Tone c. Hand: VMC German Grey and edge highlights of VMC Basalt Grey d. Optics Glass: PA Brown Black base and jeweling with VMC Burnt Red and WPF Fur Brown e. Cockpit glass: Basecoat PA Dark Purple followed by glazes of PA Royal Purple, VMC Purple, PA Plum, PA Faded Plum with VMC White for the spot shine f. Weapons: Musou Black in the recesses and for the laser, basecoat PA Black Green, VMC Intermediate Green, WPF Emerald Forest, then VMC White for the spot shine.
4. Spot application of gloss varnish on decal locations then apply decals using MicroSet and MicroSol. a. Decals: FPG Unit decals, Death Ray Designs Stencil numbers
5. All-over gloss varnish once the decals have set.
6. Oil wash of 1:1 Winton Oil Black – Payne’s Grey thinned with mineral spirits.
7. Wipe off excess wash, leaving it in the recesses then leave it to cure and dry.
8. Once the oil wash has sufficiently cured, apply a finishing coat of AK Ultra Matte Varnish.
9. Base: a. Basing texture: PA Fine Grey Earth and Vallejo Diorama FX 0.5-2mm & 2-5mm Landscape Texture. b. Basing color: VMC Tan Earth basecoat, heavy drybrush VMC Iraqi Sand then light drybrush of VMC Dark Sand. c. Basing foliage: Gamers Grass Light Green Mini Tufts and Dry Green Mini Tufts d. VMC Black around the rim to clean it up then an FPG Unit decal on the front to indicate facing
