Redcoats ‘Mechs are painted flat red above the waist, and off-white gradually darkening to gray below. The heads of Redcoats ‘Mechs are painted a pale blue, and a bold black “X” is painted across all Redcoat ‘Mech torsos (both front and back).

Artist Notes
Primed using Army Painter Ash Grey rattlecan primer, then a heavy drybrush of Army Painter Brigade Grey. The head was given a base layer of Vallejo Dark Prussian Blue and the torso and arms were given a coat of Citadel Baal Red, with the X on the front and back being applied with Pro Acryl Coal Black. The legs were given a coat of Citadel Apothecary White, with Citadel Space Wolves Grey glazed on the lower portions of the legs, moreso the further down on the leg it went. The metal bits were given base layers of Vallejo Obsidian Black (Base). Then, the whole model was given a wash of Vallejo Obsidian Black (Shade) mixed approximately 1:1 with Pro Acryl Glaze & Wash Medium. The head was then given a light drybrush of Vallejo Prussian Blue, the black X given a light drybrush of Army Painter Deep Grey, and the metal bits a light drybrush of Vallejo Obsidian Black (Light). Cockpit canopy was painted with Army Painter Molten Lava, Army Painter Lava Orange, and Army Painter Glowing Inferno in a rough jeweling fashion, with a small dot of Pro Acryl Bold Titanium White applied to opposite corners. Bold Titanium White was also used to paint the R on the torso and dot the lasers in the left hand. The medium lasers were then given a further dot of Army Painter Wild Green, and the small lasers a dot of Army Painter Dragon Red.
The crystals on the base were created by cutting bits of plastic sprue into the crystalline shape, then glued into position on the base. The base itself was given a layer of Citadel Astrogranite, while the crystals were given a layer of Citadel Aethermatic Blue, a heavy drybrush of Army Painter Elemental Bolt, and an edge highlight of Army Painter Bright Sapphire mixed 2:1 with Wild Green. Then, the Astrogranite is given a light drybrush of Brigade Grey, while any area that I felt could feasibly be bathed in light from the glowing crystals was given a drybrush of Elemental Bolt.
