Artist Notes
This miniature was reposed, then primed in a zenithal pattern using Army Painter (AP) rattle cans of Matt Black and Matt White.
Shaded areas were base coated in AP Uniform Gray, and lighted areas were base coated in Two Thin Coats (TTC) Cacharadon Gray. Dark gray areas were then applied, using Vallejo Charcoal in the shaded areas and a 1:2 mix of Vallejo Charcoal and TTC Cacharadon Gray.
The miniature was given a coat of gloss varnish before being washed with Citadel Nuln Oil. Excess oil was wiped away, and the light gray base coat was touched up where appropriate. Red sections were given a base of TTC Sanguine Scarlet, and brightened to TTC Demon Red.
Edge highlights were applied by mixing AP Matt White with the corresponding base colors, and applied on panel sides facing the direction of light.
Bare metal sections were painted using a Non Metallic Metal (NMM) technique. For glow effects, see Object Source Lighting (OSL).
