Scheme Reference
The Royal Guards use a distinctive color scheme for their ‘Mechs and vehicles: a base of Steiner blue with a gold stripe down each side. Additionally, weapon barrels are painted gold, as are hatches and sensors.

Artist Notes
For the blue sections, I base coated with Army Painter Royal Blue and then washed it with Nuln Oil, applying more to recesses. I then drybrushed with more royal blue, mixing in more white to highlight raised sections.
Gold sections were base coated with Citadel Retributor Armour and then washed with Reikland Fleshshade.
Gun barrels, heat sinks, actuators and joints were painted black using Army Painter Matte Black. All these sections were then drybrushed lightly with Army Painter Shining Silver. The very tip of gun barrels was painted with Citadel Runelord Brass and then washed with Agrax Earthshade.
Cockpit glass and small lasers were painted white, followed by a coat of Citadel Baal Red contrast. The cockpit glass was also highlighted with white.
Medium lasers were painted with Citadel Moot Green and then washed with Biel Tan Green. A small amount of Flash Gitz Yellow was used for a lens effect.
The PPCs were painted with Citadel Macragge Blue and then Scale 75 White was used for a lens effect.
Cockpit glass, lasers and PPCs were also given a coat of Citadel ‘Ardcoat for a gloss finish.
